Patch note Update Fortnite 19.20: a shotgun is back

A brand new update has just landed on Fortnite Battle Royale with some rather interesting new features in this version 19.20.

“Fortnite Battle Royale update 19.20 adds a new point of interest, dusts off a classic shed weapon (with changes), reveals Native’s masks and more. Read the article to find out more!

SNEAK INTO COVERT CAVERN AND LOOK FOR THE MYTHICAL STINGER

Deep in the mountains north of Camp Cuddle, a new high-tech point of interest has just appeared: Covert Cavern. Walk its central canal and harvest materials from its many complexes.

Rumor has it Covert Cavern is home to a mythical version of the Stinger submachine gun, a more powerful variant than the classic submachine gun (but with greater recoil). However, getting your hands on it won’t be easy…

THE HEAVY SHOTGUN IS BACK AFTER MAJOR CHANGES

the heavy shotgun comes out of the shed with special modifications for Chapter 3. With its unique projectile, its range is improved, but better accuracy is required. An exceptionally reliable weapon, perfect for launching an assault or defending against a threat!

The Heavy Shotgun can be found in floor loot, normal and rare chests, and supply drops. The new heavy shotgun exists at all rarity levels.

Note: The projectiles of the new heavy shotgun are unable to pass through multiple targets, unlike those of its classic version. This is a bug that will be fixed in a later update.

NATIVE REMASKED!

Start unlocking all masks in the outfit Native Chapter 3 – Season 1 Battle Pass!

How? ‘Or’ What unlock native masks? Find feathers in chests on the island and spend them in the “Native’s Masks” section of the Battle Pass tab. Each mask requires completing a quest to make it available. For example, catch fish to unlock cat masks, search for food to unlock deer masks, or glide to unlock owl masks!

Each mask quest can be found in the “Native’s Masks” section of the Battle Pass and each mask can be unlocked until the end of Chapter 3 – Season 1. Players simply need to own the Native outfit before starting the quests.

EXP UPDATE IN CREATIVE MODE

We’re improving EXP gain beyond Battle Royale! Normally, Creative mode islands go through a calibration process before they can grant Battle Pass EXP through rewards and this process can take several days. Starting with Update 19.20, if you trigger a reward before the calibration process is complete, you will still receive the EXP after the calibration is complete!

WEATHER REPORT

Tornadoes and Thunderstorms have been added to Team Rumble!

NOTES ON COMPETITIVE MODES

  • The Mythic Stinger Submachine Gun is not available in Competitive game modes, but the Heavy Shotgun is available immediately.
    • Although most new or reintroduced items go through a period of evaluation before being added to competitive game modes, we made an exception for the Heavy Shotgun, as it was designed to require a higher level of game to be effective.
  • As we announced last week, Spider-Man’s web shooter now only has 20 shots instead of 80 in competitive game modes. The goal is to force players to use it more strategically without reducing its effectiveness as a mobility tool.

MAJOR BUGS FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where the visual indicator for using a Recovery Van would appear before its sound effect could be heard.
  • Fixed an issue with recording some tournament games, causing points earned in those games to be lost.
  • Fixed an issue where eliminated players would sometimes drop a Spider-Man web shooter at max ammo when it wasn’t at max ammo before the player was eliminated.”
