In addition to the most beautiful RGB functionalities, the controllers stamped pro-gamers offer deep customization so competitive gamers can fine-tune their peripherals down to the smallest detail. This often concerns changes in trigger dead zones or stick travel response. The majority of peripherals in this family also come with additional parts such as joysticks of varying length, rings that shorten their travel, different directional crosses, etc. The American manufacturer PDP goes a little further.
Its Victrix Pro BFG controller includes modules consisting of the directional cross and the left joystick on the one hand, and the action buttons and the right joystick on the other. You can change the places of these two elements or rotate the cross/stick combo to go from an Xbox layout (with the asymmetrical joysticks) to a PlayStation layout (with the sticks facing each other).
And that’s not all. The fan of games Versus Fighting or the Sega fan who swears by the Megadrive will be able to rediscover the sensations of his youth thanks to the six-button module, which can therefore be placed to the right of the controller (as usual) or to the left. Once in place, the modules will be held in their housing using screws.
Another advantage of these removable modules is that you can change defective sticks and avoid having to buy a peripheral in the event of a drift problem. A precaution not necessarily essential, but welcome when we know that the sticks of the Victrix Pro BFG do not use the Hall effect, an electromagnetic phenomenon which limits friction, and therefore wear.
The rest of the PDP controller is much more sensible and we find the classic adaptive triggers, as well as four paddles at the back that the user can configure as they wish. Like many of its competitors, the Victrix Pro BFG also benefits from configuration software to software-adjust a few small things such as the layout of the keys, the response of the travel of the sticks or the dead zone of the sticks.
Don’t be jealous, the DPD Victrix Pro BFG controller (in white or black) is available on PC, Xbox One and Series, PS4 and PS5. It will cost a little less than €200 to acquire it.
