The Assembly voted on Friday the gradual extinction of most special schemes, provided for in the first article of the pension reform, during a new tense session where accusations of obstruction launched at the left were heard. This vote, with 181 votes against 163, marks the adoption of the first measure of the disputed government project, the examination of which has been progressing slowly since it kicked off on Monday in the hemicycle.
Special diets “cost 1.8 billion euros to the French every year”
With hundreds of amendments, the left-wing coalition Nupes unsuccessfully defended the maintenance of the various regimes targeted, that of the RATP, the electricity and gas industries (IEG), the Banque de France or the clerks and employees of notaries. . The Renaissance rapporteur for the text, Stéphanie Rist, defended a measure of “equity”. “Why do we want to abolish the special diets? Because they cost 1.8 billion euros to the French every year”, launched opposition MP Renaissance Sylvain Maillard.
“Why don’t you touch the special regime for senators? Because you need the right of the Senate to pass this reform”, retorted the Insoumis Antoine Léaument, describing the macronists as “big hypocrites”. The amendments concerning the “autonomous” regime of senators were deemed inadmissible. “Tomorrow we will be in the street, fists raised, we will fight you,” assured his colleague Rachel Keke.
Olivier Dussopt stepped up to the plate
Once again during this session, the presidential camp and the RN strongly criticized the choice of the Nupes to have tabled amendments by the thousands, stretching the speaking times of the left and slowing down the debates. “You have been creating a diversion with hundreds of identical amendments for hours,” said Violette Spillebout (Renaissance).
“Your amendments are useless”, added the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt, before referring to the controversial tweet the day before the Insoumis Thomas Portes, where the latter stages his foot on a ball with the effigy of the Minister of Labour.
“What do you want, you want to start again, you want my head like your colleague, you want to continue in the violence”, he launched, reacting to invectives during his intervention. “Your amendments are useless, it’s obstruction,” concluded Mr. Dussopt. “You are useless, completely off the mark, you are the useful idiots” of the government, also launched the deputy RN Thomas Ménagé.
