Wild scenes probably took place on Saturday afternoon in a tobacconist’s shop in Scharnitz (Innsbruck-Land district). Two masked men threatened the operator and stole several thousand euros. There is currently no trace of the suspects.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a previously unknown man robbed a tobacconist in Scharnitz. The perpetrator had a plastic mask on his head and was armed with a machete and pepper spray. He threatened the tobacconist operator and demanded that he hand over money. A second perpetrator was outside and “acted as a watchdog,” as the police confirmed. The perpetrators managed to escape undetected. Luckily the victims were not injured. However, they suffered a shock. One of the men was between 170 and 180 centimeters tall, slim and wore dark clothing, a black sweater and dark trousers. The second was also male, was shorter than his accomplice and wore a wine-red sweater.
