Pfizer pays $93 million in Lipitor case

(AOF) – Pfizer has agreed to pay $93 million to settle its dispute with wholesale drug distributors who accused it of colluding with Indian laboratories Ranbaxy to delay sales of generic versions of the cholesterol drug Lipitor . According to Reuters, it was lawyers for Lipitor’s buyers who disclosed the deal in a filing Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Trenton, New Jersey. The American laboratory has not admitted its responsibility, and describes the accusations as “unfounded”.
