(CercleFinance.com) – Philips presents the first integrated 12-lead ECG (electrocardiogram) solution, planned for decentralized clinical trials.
Philips is thus expanding its portfolio dedicated to remote cardiac monitoring with an ECG presented as ‘clinical quality’ which allows patients to reduce the burden of traveling to the hospital or clinic during tests.
The company recalls that patient attrition is one of the biggest issues facing clinical trial sponsors, leading to longer and more expensive trials requiring higher than optimal recruitment rates to compensate. .
Voluntary patient withdrawal is often related to disease progression or prolonged inconvenience of adherence to treatment regimens and repetitive site visits
