PHOTO – Charlize Theron: very rare appearance with her daughter August in New York

At 48, Charlize Theron is the happy mother of two children whom she adopted. Usually discreet about her family life, the actress was seen with her youngest daughter, named August, on April 15. She had in fact gone to a Christian Dior brand fashion show for the fall 2024 collection with her daughter. The event took place at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. The star went almost incognito, wearing a black outfit and matching sunglasses, while the little one, adopted in August 2015, glowed in blue.

Small blue bombers worn over a white dress, black Christian Dior shoulder bag, high socks and sneakers in gray tones, the little girl already has an assertive style while retaining a childish touch. Little August, visibly at ease with the photographers, did not hesitate to smile proudly in front of the lens. Delighted with this mother-daughter moment spent in the Big Apple, Charlize Theron shared photos of their getaway on Instagram. “We came, we saw, we did everything. New York, you were a treat,” wrote the actress in the caption of her publication. In the first photo, the mother and her daughter, accomplices, sip the same glass of soda together. We can then see their meal of fries, ketchup and ice cream, their visit to the September 11 memorial replacing the destroyed twin towers, their discovery of the Statue of Liberty or even their walks in the streets of New York.

A mother who accepts and loves her children as they are

On March 27, Charlize Theron revealed to her Instagram fans happy memories with August, but also with her eldest daughter Jackson, at the Disneyland theme park. As a reminder, it was in March 2012 that she adopted her first child in South Africa. From the age of three, the little one naturally explained to her that she felt like a girl. The actress immediately agreed to change her pronoun to address her and in the columns of Daily Mail, in 2019, she tenderly declared: “I have two beautiful daughters and, like any parent, I want to protect them and see them flourish. They were born as they were meant to be […]. And it’s not up to me to decide anything.”
