Amazon now also offers its Click & Collect orders in Germany. If required, customers can pick up their goods directly on site on the day they place their order. According to Amazon, there are advantages for both customers and shop operators.
Amazon: Click & Collect starts in Germany
The program has been available in the USA for a few months, and now “Amazon Click & Collect In Store” is also making it to Germany. Here, customers have the opportunity to pick up ordered goods from Marketplace dealersinstead of having them delivered to your home or to a packing station (source: Amazon).
According to Amazon, there are advantages for both customers and store operators with Click & Collect. Customers receive their ordered items fasterwhile owners of a brick-and-mortar store can look forward to more walk-in customers who might buy something in store in addition to ordering.
Customers have five days to collect their package. Whether the goods are ready for you find out via SMS or e-mail, after the merchant has gathered the items and set them aside. The prerequisite is that the shop is located within a radius of 48 kilometers from the customer. Here Amazon has probably simply set 30 miles as in the USA and converted the radius to kilometers.
Amazon’s Click & Collect is not to be confused with Amazon Counterin which Amazon packages are shipped to brick-and-mortar stores, which can then be picked up by customers.

Store operators with at least one brick-and-mortar retail store cannot simply register for Amazon’s Click & Collect, but must apply to be accepted into the program. After a successful application, products that are available on site and listed on amazon.de must be listed.
