Even before Google’s Pixel 6 Pro went on sale, a feature was teased: Face Unlock. However, it then became quiet and the feature has not appeared until today. This is about to change.
As the technology blog 9to5Google reports, a source has now revealed that Face Unlock will be released soon. The new unlocking method could already be included in the next feature drop, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
In contrast to the iPhone models with Face ID, the Pixel 6 Pro uses the front camera and not a 3D sensor when unlocking via face recognition. The security should be achieved by the software, which may have caused the delay.
