PlayStation VR 2: the PS5 headset and its VR2 Sense controllers as you’ve never seen them in teardown videos

We are now only a week away from the launch of the PlayStation VR 2scheduled for February 22, 2023, so Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to tell us about it in an original way. More specifically, he decided to show an aspect of the virtual reality headset and its controllers that we had not yet seen: their innards.

Of the official teardown videos PSVR 2 and joysticks PS VR2 Sense have just been revealed. They do not act as a tutorial for a repair, but allow you to better understand the technologies embedded in the devices, and perhaps also their high prices. You will be able to learn more about the cooling system and the optical components of the helmet thanks to Takamasa Araki of the team in charge of the mechanical design, as well as about the detection of the contact or the haptic feedback of the PS VR2 Sense thanks to Takeshi Igarashi from the peripheral design team.

If you want a quick look at the performance of the PlayStation VR 2, we refer you to its official data sheet. And if you want to see the PS5 get taken apart, playstation had also unveiled a video in the same genre for the console at its launch. The PS5 is available from €544.99 at CDiscount.
