The real space allocated to our game session can otherwise be easily personalized thanks to the PSVR 2Sense and a warning will be given to us if we approach the defined limits. Finally, we will have a choice between 2 display modes: The mode VRfor a 360° virtual environment in 4000 x 2040 HDR (2000 x 2040 per eye) with a frame rate 90Hz/120Hz, and cinematic modesuitable for multimedia content and games not VRbut also to virtual reality experiences, broadcasting our game on a virtual cinema screen in 1920×1080 HDR with a frame rate 24/60 Hz, even 120 Hz. As we continue our efforts as we approach launch, today we wanted to give you a little preview of the UX-related features that await you in PS VR2.

Transparent view
With PS VR2, you’ll be able to see your surroundings while wearing the headset, thanks to our new Transparent View. This is a very handy feature that will help you find your PS VR2 Sense controllers around the room without having to remove the headset. With PS VR2’s built-in front cameras, you can press the function button on the headset, or use the corresponding Map in Control Center, to switch between viewing your surroundings and viewing content on PS VR2. The Control Center Map also provides quick access to other PS VR2 settings, such as adjusting your play space.
Since transparent view is just a viewing feature, it does not offer any recording options.
Stage yourself during your gameplay streams
A new PS VR2 streaming feature will let you film yourself while you play, by connecting a PS5 HD camera to the console. It’s a perfect way to show other players your moves and reactions during a boss fight, all in real time!
Personalized play space
The PS VR2 play space can be personalized using PS VR2 Sense controllers and built-in cameras. Cameras let you scan the room, while PS VR2 Sense controllers let you expand and further customize the play area to match your playstyle to your surroundings.
During a game, if you get close to the limit you have set for your play space, you will receive a warning. You can change your settings anytime while PS VR2 is connected. Once your game space is set up, the settings are saved. However, they will be lost if you change game space.
VR mode and cinematic mode
In VR mode, you can enjoy your VR games in a 360° virtual environment. Content will be displayed in 4000 x 2040 HDR (2000 x 2040 per eye) video format with 90Hz/120Hz frame rate.
In Cinematic Mode, you’ll be able to view the PS5’s UI and system, along with all non-VR media and games, on a virtual cinema screen. Content in cinematic mode will be displayed in a 1920×1080 HDR video format with frame rates of 24/60Hz, and even 120Hz.
PS VR2 game developers will soon have access to the latest user experience for PS VR2, through a new version of system software that will be released as development continues. PS VR2 will bring many exciting new features, and we can’t wait to tell you more about our next-generation virtual reality headset, which will push the boundaries of gameplay innovation.
