US MP outraged with gun family photo
A few days ago a 15-year-old shot dead four classmates in the USA. No reason for a member of the US House of Representatives to forego his gun-staring Christmas greeting.
Just a few days after the fatal firearms attack on a school in the US state of Michigan, a member of the House of Representatives caused outrage with a Christmas greeting: Republican Thomas Massie poses in the photo with his family in front of a Christmas tree – and everyone is holding a gun Hand. The MP from the state of Kentucky wrote: “Merry Christmas. PS: Santa Claus, please bring ammunition.”
Massie released the photo just days after another fatal firearms incident. A 15-year-old opened fire at his school in the small town of Oxford, north of Detroit, on Tuesday. He killed four classmates between the ages of 14 and 17 and injured seven other people. Especially in this context, Massie’s photo caused general outrage among both Democratic and, in some cases, Republican politicians.
The activist Fred Guttenberg, who is fighting for stricter gun law and whose daughter was killed in the Parkland school massacre in 2018, also spoke up. “Thomas Massie, if we’re already sharing family photos, here are mine,” he wrote on Twitter and published photos: “One is the last photo I took of Jaime. The other shows the place where she is buried. “
