A brand derived from Xiaomi, Poco offers a more limited catalog of smartphones, with models generally geared towards performance and offering advantageous quality/price ratios. It now completes its offer with a device called M6 Pro which, as its name does not indicate, falls into the category of entry-level smartphones. The M6 Pro thus provides an affordable alternative to models such as the Redmi Note 12, sold under the Xiaomi banner.
We thus find a smartphone equipped with a 6.79-inch LCD screen, with Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of 90 Hz; a compromise if we compare it to the Redmi Note 12 series, which is entitled to Amoled screens at 120 Hz. The smartphone, on the other hand, offers the latest entry-level chip from Qualcomm, since it relies on the very recent Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (the Redmi Note 12 houses Gen 1), flanked by 4 to 6 GB of RAM. If he does not announce an excess of power, the chipsets has the merit of including a 5G modem. We also appreciate that the storage of the smartphone, 64 or 128 GB, is expandable via a microSD card (up to 1 TB).
The rest of the features of the M6 Pro are agreed: it is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 18 W charging, a double rear photo module of which only the main 50 Mpx sensor is usable, and a 8 MP front camera. We note the integration of a 3.5 mm jack, IP53 certification and, above all, a launch under Android 13 with MIUI 14. If the smartphone is currently announced in India, we can hope for a subsequent marketing on the international market. Its price should be advantageous, since the M6 Pro is announced between 10,999 and 12,999 rupees (about 120 to 145 € at the current exchange rate).
