Sending migrants to the European Union (EU) across its borders in revenge for economic sanctions: this is the new cynical weapon of the Belarusian regime of Alexander Lukashenko.
Since this summer, Belarus has brought in thousands of migrants, many of them from the Middle East. They land in Minsk and then attempt to cross the border to Poland to return to Europe, with the help of Belarusian authorities. Monday, October 8, the tension rose a notch in the region.
What does the humanitarian situation look like at the border? How does Poland react to this attempt at destabilization?
