Streamer Gotaga defied all the laws of probability on Pokémon Legends: Arceus. He encountered the same Shiny Pokémon twice in just five minutes.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest game in the saga, and fans were curious to discover a Sinnoh of yesteryear in the Hisui region.

This new RPG introduces several region specific forms like Arcanine of Hisui, Hisui’s Warrior or Hisui’s Zoroark, but also new game mechanics.

One of the features that caught the eye of gamers is the new method of finding the Shiny. Indeed, it is now possible to considerably increase your chances of encountering one in the wild thanks to herds.

Hunting a Shiny has become easier in Pokémon Legends: Arceus thanks to herds.

If you also have a Chroma Charm or a research level of level 10 on your Pokédex, hunting Shiny will be a cakewalk with a chance rate of around 1 for 128 encounters in the best case.

Gotaga encounters two Shiny Pokémon in record time

However, the odds of encountering one in the wild are no different from older games with a rate of 1 in 4,096 encounters. And yet for Gotaga, it seems like child’s play.

While the streamer was trying by all means to find a Shiny Carmache, he had the pleasant surprise of coming face to face with a Shiny Tarinorm. A happy event for Gotaga but the story does not end there…

Just five minutes later, the streamer had an even more unexpected encounter. He sighted a second wild Shiny Tarinorm in just 300 seconds. His astonishment is so great that he wonders the probability of such an event occurring twice in a row.

According to statistics, a Wild Shiny encounter equals a 4,096 chance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Gotaga therefore had one in 16,777,216 million chance to meet two Shiny and all in five minutes! The French Monster of Shiny hunting.

To top it off, the streamer still managed to find and capture his Carmache Shiny later on. Once again he was overcome with emotion.
