More than three months after the revelation of the ninth generation During Pokémon Presents, new information about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has finally been revealed via a new gameplay trailer. If you can watch the trailer just above, here are the 3 big important information to remember.
The two Legendaries
For three minutes, we were treated to images of the new region (whose name is still unknown) and trainers surveying the different areas. If the graphics of the landscapes can always leave something to be desired, the chara-design is quite attractive and that of the Legendaries as well. For the first time in the Pokémon license, the choice of version will allow you to have a very different Professor at the start of the adventure.
- Koraidon : exclusive to the Scarlet version
- Miraidon : exclusive to the Purple version
Their types are still unknown.
The new Pikachu of 9G and two other new creatures
No new Eevee evolution for the moment but we have at least been able to see three new Pokémon, in addition to the two Legendaries! One of them makes us think of the famous Pikachu-inspired mascot present in each new generation. That being said, its English name (Powmi) is different from French, except that the Pikachu of older generations are supposed to keep the same name in all languages.
- pohm : Electric type, the Mouse Pokémon has a large fur that allows it to protect itself effectively from the cold but also to store electricity.
- Gourmet : Normal type, the Pig Pokémon uses its advanced sense of smell to find food,
- Olivini : Grass-type and Normal-type, the Olive Pokémon converts nutrients into oil that it stores in the fruit that tops its head. Unfortunately, the olive oil he produces is not edible.
4 player multiplayer
Again, for the first time in a main series Pokémon game, the 4 player co-op will be available to explore the new region, trade, fight and more. We don’t know yet if it will be possible to start the adventure directly with 4 players or the multiplayer mode will be unlocked later only for exploration, but this is good news.
Of course, the trailer is not limited to these 3 novelties. We also see many new characters who will accompany us during our adventure, Pokémon from older generations, Pokémon Centers with futuristic design and of course the landscapes of the new region.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be available on Nintendo Switch exclusively, the Friday, November 18, 2022.
