PPDA “consumes and mistreats” women: 3 new shocking testimonies

Patrick Poivre d’Arvor is accused of serious sexual violence by a dozen women. The first testimonies were made public in February 2021 and have continued to multiply ever since.

The newspaper Liberation publishes, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, three additional testimonies of women accusing PPDA of sexual assault and rape. They are added to the long list of 23 women who have already testified, including 8 of them with his face uncovered on the front page of the daily Liberation, November 8, 2021. In the process, they launched the tag #MeTooMedia.

The three new stories released today echo the previous ones. They are those of young women, whom the star presenter of the time addresses by asking them intrusive questions about their romantic situation, or by inviting them to go through his hotel room for some pretext. Amandine Cornette de Saint Cyr was 33 years old at the time of the events, in 2009. When PPDA contacted her, it was allegedly to talk to her about her novel and accompany her up the steps of Cannes. However, during the festival and shortly before this climb of the stairs, he invites her to go to his room, specifying that he is not yet quite ready to leave in the direction of the Palais des festivals.

Treated like “a sex toy”, recalls this accuser of PPDA

The young woman goes to her room and comes across naked PPDA under a bathrobe. “I’m stuck, because we are in a room. I still find it a bit stiff that he throws himself on me like that, that he acts like that, cold”, she describes. Takes place a sexual relation “unexpected” and “unwanted”, as the 46-year-old writer reports. She also describes the touching she suffered once in the Cannes screening room.

If she does not wish, for the moment, to file a complaint, the facts are not prescribed. In Liberation, Amandine Cornette de Saint Cyr talks about her impression of having been a “sex toy” in his words, and specifies: “Pepper consumes and mistreats. I was ashamed”. Her testimony precedes that of two other women, who tells Liberation under her own name for one, under a pseudonym for the other. Their stories were already known to the press.

At the center of the testimonials, the same PPDA method

Laure Eude was 23 years old when she crossed paths with Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, during her internship as press attachĂ© at the Cannes Film Festival. The journalist blocks her in his room to rape her, without a condom. “The scene lasted three minutes. He didn’t even say hello to me. I felt like I had followed the wolf and that wolf had eaten me.”, she says in Release. The organization of the festival, his parents, his friends are informed, but no legal action is taken. She feels “dirty”, her fiancĂ© leaves her and “immediately break their ties”. Laure Eude finally lodged a complaint in November 2021, despite the statute of limitations.

The last testimony is that of a woman who calls herself Isabelle and tells of having been forcibly kissed in an elevator where she was with PPDA, while she was a receptionist at a hotel in Valmorel, in Savoie in 2013. She also filed a complaint. The presenter always denies him, despite several complaints and this avalanche of damning stories.
