Presidential 2022: Arnaud Montebourg withdraws his candidacy

In a video posted on social networks, the socialist Arnaud Montebourg has just announced that he is withdrawing from the race for the presidential election.

It is on his land, in Bibracte (in Saône-et-Loire) that Arnaud Montebourg announced the withdrawal of his candidacy for the 2022 presidential election. “I did not manage to unite my candidacy with other candidacies in a common program, despite my efforts and the commitment of my team,” he explains in the video posted on social networks. “None (of the other candidates of his political family) is determined to overcome our disagreements”. “The time has therefore come for me as a free man, absolutely free (…) to tell you that I have made the decision to withdraw from the presidential race”, he then declared, not wanting to add “from the mess to the confusion of too many applications.” He also announced that he would not support any other candidate.

Former Minister of the Economy, Arnaud Montebourg was only credited with 0.5% of voting intentions in our last real-time presidential poll.
