The latest polls of voting intentions in the presidential election now credit Marine le Pen with 20% of the vote, far ahead of Éric Zemmour, Jean-Luc Mélenchon or Valérie Pécresse. The dynamic of the candidate of the National Rally (RN) seems to sow doubt in the entourage of the outgoing President.

Within the majority, we are beginning to fear a second round against Marine Le Pen. While the candidate has reached 20% of voting intentions in the polls, this possible confrontation promises to be more complicated than expected. According to a Macronist adviser interviewed by Europe 1, the MP for Pas-de-Calais is having a very good presidential campaign, which should not be underestimated. To date, several institutes give the National Rally (RN) candidate close to 45% of voting intentions against Emmanuel Macron in the second round. That’s about twelve points higher than his 2017 score.

An almost perfect campaign

What worries Emmanuel Macron’s entourage the most is the reserve of votes available to Marine Le Pen. In the event of a second round between the two candidates, the RN candidate could recover a large part of Éric Zemmour’s voters, but also the anti-Macron vote, and even part of Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s popular electorate. As for the outgoing President, he will only have the postponement of part of the votes of Valérie Pécresse, and very little of the moderate left… The Front Républicain seems a long way off.

On the side of Marine Le Pen, we believe victory is within reach. His campaign looks flawless. She stays away from controversy and has removed extremism from her program. Some in her camp now compare her to Jacques Chirac in 1995. The daughter of her former opponent during this election also regularly uses the term social fracture, dear to the former President of the Republic.

The popular class candidate

Marine Le Pen has decided to present herself as the candidate for purchasing power, with concrete measures to relieve the wallets of the French, such as the reduction in VAT on energy, and it seems to be working. Added to this are very good performances on television and a closeness displayed with the French and the working classes which make the difference with the other candidates. Now, Marine Le Pen’s team really believes that a victory is possible against Emmanuel Macron.
