The socialist presidential candidate announced this Thursday that she maintained her desire to participate in a primary and let it be known that she would not withdraw behind the former Minister of Justice.
She does not budge. Invited this Thursday morning from BFM TV, the PS mayor of Paris reiterates her wish to participate in a primary whose outlines are, for the time being, more than uncertain. “For us to govern we have to come together, and the best way to come together is the primary”, she says at the microphone of Jean-Jacques Bourdin.
The PS candidate also said she would not side with Christiane Taubira, who announced on December 17 “Consider being a candidate” in the presidential election in April. “This is an additional candidacy, estimated Hidalgo. “Fight among yourselves”

The socialist candidate, who launched this idea to everyone’s surprise, persists. “You have 85% of French people who say they are more on the left who call this primary”, she insists again this Thursday. Organization, participants, debates… Everything remains unclear. “We still have the month of January to be able to do it”, wants to believe Anne Hidalgo. A cry into the void? The mayor of Paris repeats it: the only way to beat Emmanuel Macron, for the left, is to unite.
