Presidential poll: Left-wing candidates, mention passable minus

If it is still too early to assess the effect of the popular primary on Christiane Taubira, the candidates on the left are still struggling in our daily #LaPrésidentielleEnTempsRéeel Ifop-Fiducial survey for Paris Match / LCI / Sud-Radio.

The more it goes, the less it goes for the left. Following the results of the popular primary, the effect is still invisible. Only a sample of 500 people among those questioned by Ifop was exposed to the results of this citizens’ initiative won by Christiane Taubira. For the time being, the former minister remains stable with 4% of the voting intentions, which places her between the ecologist Yannick Jadot (5%) and the socialist Anne Hidalgo (0.5%), at a good distance from Jean- Luc Melenchon. The Insoumis still leads the pack on the left with a modest 9.5%. In short, everyone is struggling far from the first place occupied by Emmanuel Macron (24%, =).

Finally, this gloomy situation for the left only benefits the communist Fabien Roussel. The boss of the PCF and member of the North never ceases to amaze and shake the left. It gleans 0.5% and rises to 3.5%. Admittedly, this remains modest, but it looks like a revolution for the party based in Place du Colonel-Fabien in Paris. The last time the PCF presented a candidate was in 2007 and Marie-George Buffet won less than 2% of the vote. A Berezina that almost ended communism. In 2012 and 2017, the PCF also preferred to skip its turn and support the former socialist Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The outspokenness of Fabien Roussel pays off. His desire to stick to the aspirations of the working classes with his shock outings on French gastronomy (ah! good wine and steak) has helped to make him known. However, it remains far from being able to disrupt the electoral game.

It narrows between Le Pen and Pécresse

Second place seems inaccessible to the various candidates on the left. The gap is closing between Marine Le Pen (17.5%) down half a point and Valérie Pécresse (16.5%). The polemicist Eric Zemmour remains behind in ambush with 13.5%. Here too, we will have to wait to see if the rallies recorded by the founder of the party “Reconquêtes! (including the probable Marion Maréchal) will have an effect.
