In “The Dead of Salzburg: Sweet Gift” (ZDF), Commissioner Mur has to solve a murder in the Bavarian Energy Minister’s entourage. Comic cakes are in demand at the “Big Celebrity Baking” (Sat.1). The first shows the drama “Every Year in June” about a cross-border love affair.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, The Dead of Salzburg: Sweet Poison, crime thriller

A storm of flashbulbs in the Hotel Menuett in Salzburg. The Bavarian Energy Minister Wittmann (Johannes Zirner) and the President of the Salzburg State Parliament announce the energy transition: biogas at a press conference. The busy entrepreneur Nussbaumer (Karl Fischer) is supposed to drive this forward with his new biogas plant. In the audience: Chief Inspector Mur (Michael Fitz), as undercover personal security for Wittmann, Hofrat Seywald (Erwin Steinhauer), an old school friend of Nussbaumer, and his husband Rene (Michael Schönborn). They are quickly called to the scene when Wittmann’s chauffeur falls dead out of the limousine in front of everyone present. He was poisoned.

This episode focuses on precision as Betty meticulously takes every measurement during the technical inspection. The celebs work up a sweat as they try to turn their favorite exotic nuts into tempting cake creations. Who can do one? Create a cake that resembles a living comic masterpiece while combining creativity with accuracy?

In 1971, the Bavarian housewife and mother Elke (Katharina Wackernagel) met the carpenter Gregor (Peter Schneider) from Dessau while visiting relatives in the GDR. Despite their different lives, they fall in love with each other. But their love faces major hurdles right from the start: both are married and have two children each. Elke lives in the conservative milieu of the Federal Republic, while Gregor fights against the ideological narrowness of the GDR.

He learns from Frauke Weiß (Julia Brendler), Britta’s sister, that Britta has fulfilled her desire to have children after surviving cancer and with the help of a fertilization clinic. Her life revolves around her five-year-old daughter. Is this the behavior of a woman who wants to die?
