The job of airport Santa Claus Thorsten (Henning Baum) usually ends before the presents are handed out. This time, however, force majeure thwarted his plans: a snowstorm and the closure of the access road ensure that on Nobody comes out of the terminal on Christmas Eve. Thorsten and his Santa Claus colleague (Xenia Tiling) now have to ensure contemplation among those trapped. Not an easy undertaking!
8:15 p.m., ZDF, Christmas Eve with Carmen Nebel, Christmas show
Who doesn’t dream of celebrating Christmas Eve in the mountains, with a cozy fireplace and beautiful Christmas music? Carmen Nebel makes that possible this year. She meets on a cozy Alpine pasture in Tyrol with EllaFIN, Matze Knop, Monika Baumgartner, Julia Lindholm, Wolfgang Ambros, Mark Keller and his son Aaron. The Tschentig hut band provides the atmosphere.
8:15 p.m., VOX, A magical nanny, fantasy comedy
Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson) is supposed to help widower Cedric Brown (Colin Firth) raise his seven cheeky children. Led by the eldest offspring Simon, the rascals have already driven 17 other nannies to the brink of madness and forced them to give up. At Nanny McPhee, the children have planned something similar. But things are different for the mysterious woman with the strange appearance. Because Nanny McPhee has magical powers.
8:15 p.m., ProSieben, The Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King, Fantasy
The Battle for Middle-earth is about to begin: As the hobbits Sam (Sean Astin) and Frodo (Elijah Wood) get closer and closer to Mordor, their friendship is put to the test. Meanwhile, Sauron’s mighty army consisting of thousands of orcs attacks the capital of Gondor. Only a weak leader now watches over the once mighty kingdom – it’s up to Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) to face his fate in order to distract Sauron long enough for Frodo to complete his mission.
8:15 p.m., RTL two, Illuminati, Thriller
Professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) discovers that “the Illuminati”, an ancient secret society, appears to have risen again. Shortly afterwards, it becomes clear that the Catholic Church, one of the Illuminati’s sworn enemies, is facing a deadly threat. Langdon flies to Rome, where he and the scientist Vittoria (Ayelet Zurer) try to find out what connection there is between the return of the secret society and the supposed terrorist attack planned on the Vatican.
