Arizona Republicans Tuesday faced a choice between a well-known former news anchor and a development attorney in the run for governor. Former President Donald Trump endorsed Kari Lake, who left her nearly three-decade career at Foxnews behind.
She faced Karrin Taylor Robson, who is supported by prominent Republicans from across the country. Robson is currently leading by almost four percent ahead of Kari Lake after almost 70 percent of the votes counted. They want to get their party to turn their backs on Trump. Among other things, Robson is supported by Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence.
Blake Masters won the Republican nomination for the US Senate in the Arizona primary. The 35-year-old was Trump-backed and has worked for billionaire Peter Thiel for most of his career. Thiel, in turn, funded the Masters campaign.
