Prince Andrew appears to have accepted the civil suit against him. Virginia Giuffre had brought the case in New York.

Prince Andrew (61) will apparently no longer try to block a lawsuit against him in the United States. Virginia Roberts Giuffre (38) has filed a civil lawsuit against him there. The allegation: Prince Andrew allegedly sexually abused her as a minor on the property of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019). Andrew denies the allegations.

The royal legal team had initially tried to delay the proceedings on the grounds, among other things, that the complaint was not properly served. Now the “New York Post” reports of a joint agreement that had been submitted to the competent judge. According to this, the lawyers of Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre said they had held a phone call on September 21 and agreed a schedule for the continuation of the proceedings.

Giuffre wants compensation

If the judge agrees, the Duke of York will have until October 29 to respond to Giuffre’s allegations. The 38-year-old is claiming damages in the lawsuit, the amount is not known. According to British media reports, speculation is over a million.
