Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla visited a cathedral in the south west of England. The royals were in a good mood.

On the so-called “Freedom Day” on July 19, the corona restrictions were lifted in England. In a good mood and without a mask, Prince Charles (72) and his wife, Duchess Camilla (74), went to the south-west of England to visit St. Peter’s Cathedral in Devon.

In pictures from the visit, the two royals can be seen talking to citizens, among other things. You are literally shining. The eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II (95) and heir to the throne was apparently in such a good mood that he let himself be carried away with a little joke. A woman who was also present told the British Daily Mail: “He looked very nice. He asked if he was stopping us all and we were waiting to go to the cathedral.”

The visit is a “triumph”

Charles – in a gray suit – and Camilla – in a navy blue dress with feathers – talked to the young members of the church choir, among others. According to the report, they learned a lot about restoring the cathedral on site. In connection with the visit of Camilla and Charles, the Bishop of Exeter spoke of a “triumph”.

Then the two of them went on to other appointments. Charles, for example, unveiled a plaque to commemorate the couple’s visit. In addition, the program included meetings with various groups from the community that work for the environment, among other things. It is therefore the first stop for the prince and his wife on a three-day tour through the southwest.
