Charles and Camilla received a booster vaccination against Covid-19. In a statement they call for people to do the same.

Prince Charles (73) and Duchess Camilla (74) received their booster vaccination in the fight against the corona pandemic. That gave the couple in a statement known and also shared some words of thanks. “One year after the first Covid-19 vaccination, more than a hundred million doses have been delivered to date. We owe this to the remarkable ingenuity and determination of everyone involved.”

Intensive care units as a warning example

The royal couple would like to thank scientists, volunteers and employees of the National Health Service (NHS) who have contributed to this extraordinary achievement. Then the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall made an appeal to the population: “All those who have not yet been vaccinated – or are hesitant to get a booster – we can only ask to look at our intensive care units and listen to those who are there work.” People who have not been vaccinated are about ten times more likely to be hospitalized or to die than those who have received two doses of the vaccine. “That’s why we urge everyone to get vaccinated and to use the booster, just like we did ourselves.”

At the beginning of December 2020, Great Britain began vaccinating people nationwide against the corona virus. The royal couple received their first vaccination in February 2021. As Camilla later explained when visiting a vaccination center, her dose was the controversial vaccine AstraZenenca. At the time of the vaccination she was apparently not clear: “I didn’t ask because I hate syringes so much that I just closed my eyes …” Queen Elizabeth II (95) was vaccinated in January. It is not known whether she has already received a booster vaccination.

Most recently, the Queen’s state of health and the associated cancellation of appointments at public appearances made headlines. As the “Mirror” reports, however, the Queen recently told her family that she was fit enough to host Christmas in Sandringham. She is said to have assured that she is “much better” and that she is “looking forward” to celebrating together.
