Prince Haakon + Mette-Marit: “Not problem-free”! Meaningful words about marriage

Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit have been married for over 20 years. The royals’ marriage also doesn’t seem to be without disagreements. The couple now emphasizes that things don’t always go smoothly.

Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit both turned 50 last summer. The couple celebrated their milestone birthdays together with an exuberant party in August – around 380 guests celebrated the two of them. But that’s not all: the heir to the Norwegian throne and his wife have also taken several trips to celebrate their milestones.

On the “five journeys” that “together tell a story about different parts of our society” – as the palace’s website said – Haakon and Mette-Marit were accompanied by a camera team. The program series “Haakon and Mette-Marit – our Norway” has now been published – in the first episode the royals even speak openly about their relationship.

Princess Mette-Marit on marriage to Prince Haakon: “From time to time things can get a little tense”

According to “Billed Bladet,” the two are asked in the show how well they would work as a team. The question puts a smile on the faces of both the Crown Prince and his wife. The mother of three first passes the ball to her lover and wants to know how he would respond. “When things are going well, we’re a really good team. Things don’t always go smoothly… But I think we complement each other pretty well,” says Haakon.

Princess Mette-Marit agrees with her husband, whom she married in 2001. “I feel like we’re a really good team. Things can get a little tense from time to time. But I think that’s because we have a great sense of security because we’ve been working together for 22 years.” , emphasizes the 50-year-old and adds: “I know Haakon really well. I know what he’s very, very annoyed about and what’s going well.”
