Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are expected at the NAACP Image Awards next Saturday. Her first real Hollywood appearance…

First major Hollywood appearance by Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40): On Saturday, the Royals will receive the so-called President’s Prize at the NAACP Image Awards. This is reported, among other things, by the “People” magazine. Through the work of their Archewell Foundation, they fought the Covid 19 pandemic and drew attention to the Black Lives Matters movement, the statement said.

“It is a true honor to be recognized by President Derrick Johnson and the NAACP. Their efforts to advance racial justice and civil rights are as important today as they were almost 115 years ago,” Harry and Meghan are quoted as saying. They also partnered with the organization to launch a new award to be presented jointly to leaders who “make change to advance civil and human rights.” Harry and Meghan said they are proud to support the work of the NAACP.

Also attending are Mary J. Blige and Samuel L. Jackson

The 53rd NAACP Image Awards will be presented on February 26 in Los Angeles. Other guests announced include Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Samuel L. Jackson and Zendaya. Before Harry and Meghan, the President’s Prize was awarded to personalities such as Muhammad Ali, Colin Powell, LeBron James and Rihanna.

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was founded in New York City in 1909. It is one of the oldest and most influential civil rights organizations in the United States. As of August 2021, the NAACP had approximately 300,000 members.
