Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: On TV, they campaign for the US election

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made their TV appearance strong for the US election. It is the "most important choice of our life".

Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) appeared on Tuesday evening on "ABC" to announce the annual ranking of 100 Most Influential People in the World by "Time" magazine to celebrate. The couple, who also made it onto this list in 2018, used their first TV appearance – online videos and public appointments have already been made – during prime time to promote voter registration for the US election (November 3, 2020).

"Most important choice of our life"

"We are six weeks from the election and today is voter registration day," said US-born Meghan on the special. "Every four years we are told, 'This is the most important choice we make in our life. But it really is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices heard."

The British prince, who is not allowed to vote in the USA, takes the opportunity to appeal against hatred on the Internet. "As we approach November, it is vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity. What we consume, what we are exposed to and what we engage in online has a real impact on all of us," said Harry.

Praise to the encouragement

Duchess Meghan also encouraged viewers to "honor those who gave us courage this year". The scientists, researchers and medical professionals who lead the fight against Covid-19 were meant. According to the actress, the same applies to the "countless voices who speak out against injustice and inequality with passion and determination". In this sense, she praised the "peaceful protest to stand up for what is just and right".

Prince Harry and his wife (since 2018) moved their one-year-old son Archie from England to Los Angeles in March after stepping down from senior royals. They now live in Santa Barbara near Los Angeles.
