The Royal Family will probably have to get along without her
Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry has been living in the USA with their children since leaving the royal family, the so-called “Megxit”.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will probably stay in the USA and will not be active as full-time or part-time royals.
In view of King Charles III’s cancer. (75) and Princess Kate (42), who is temporarily out after an operation, the British media had suggested a temporary return of Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42). Since the Duke of Sussex had struck an unusually conciliatory tone towards his royal family in a TV interview, there was speculation as to whether the couple could possibly commute between California and the island and be used as a kind of “part-time royals”. But a PR expert now clearly rejects this – and also gives a clear reason for it.
Will the return to Meghan fail?
Harry and Meghan “will not be returning to the UK full-time or part-time,” said Lynn Carratt of Press Box PR to the British newspaper “The Mirror”. While the former royal butler Grant Harold believes a return is “very possible”, the Hollywood expert at the London PR agency is sure that this will not happen. This is mainly due to the Duchess: “Meghan would not like to settle in Great Britain, although I am sure Harry would enjoy spending more time in his homeland and meeting up with his old friends again.”
But for the American-born woman, that’s not an option: “Meghan had difficulty living in the UK before ‘Megxit’; being part of the British monarchy was outside her comfort zone. Her popularity in America is much greater than in the UK.” In Britain, public opinion of Meghan had fallen “to a completely negative level” and it was “unlikely” that the British would “welcome her back” after all the tell-all interviews.
According to the PR expert, the Duchess would have to do a lot to turn her image around: “Meghan could increase her popularity by not constantly playing off her royal connections, as on her and Harry’s newly launched website. In order for the British “To become more accessible to the public, they may also consider limiting the use of designer labels.” It is also advisable to “show yourself as an average working mother who faces the same challenges as others.” Would the former “Suits” actress really take on that? The expert strongly doubts this.
Harry said: ‘I think every illness brings families together’
Prince Harry and his wife stepped down as working royals four years ago and moved to the USA. They live with their children Prince Archie (4) and Princess Lilibet (2) in Montecito, California. After King Charles’ cancer diagnosis became known at the beginning of February 2024, Prince Harry quickly traveled to his homeland to visit his father. There was subsequent speculation in the British press that Harry might want to temporarily return to royal service. The thoughts were fueled by an interview by the 39-year-old on the US show “Good Morning America”. There the renegade royal said: “I think every illness brings families together.” He also emphasized that he loves his family and is “grateful” that he was able to fly to his father so quickly.
The brother of heir to the throne Prince William (41) also announced that he would be traveling to Great Britain more often again. “I suspect that Harry would like to expand his children’s relationship with King Charles,” said PR expert Lynn Carratt, assessing these plans. He wants to make sure the little ones understand their heritage. “And now that the children are a little older and it’s easier to travel with them, I’m sure Archie and Lilibet will be visiting the UK more often.” It remains to be seen whether Meghan will also be there. Most recently, Harry always flew to Great Britain without her company.
