It has been speculated for months whether Prince Harry will travel to London for the memorial service for his grandfather, Prince Philip. Now the date is getting closer.

The date for the memorial service for Prince Philip, † 99, has been set. The late Duke of Edinburgh is to be commemorated with a service in Westminster Abbey on March 29, 2022. Queen Elizabeth, 95, can count on the support of her family on this day. Prince Charles, 73, and Duchess Camilla, 74, and other senior royals will be by their side.

Prince Harry calls for police protection on next UK visit

This also includes Prince William, 39, and Duchess Catherine, 40. Whether Prince Harry, 37, will be there with his family has not yet been confirmed. In January there were speculations that the Queen’s grandson would not be making the journey from his adopted home in the United States to London after he had made demands for police protection on visits to the British government. He lost this right when he resigned as a high-ranking member of the royal family.

Will Lilibet finally meet her family?

If the dispute, which Harry is even said to be considering taking to court, has not been settled and a solution found by March, the chances of a reunion and eventual reconciliation with his family in March are slim. So far, the 37-year-old’s relatives have not even been allowed to meet his eight-month-old daughter Lilibet.

Prince Harry’s last visit to his homeland was almost a year ago and also had a sad occasion. In April last year he flew to London to attend the memorial service for his beloved grandfather, who passed away on April 9 at the age of 99. Meanwhile, his then-pregnant wife and son Archie, 2, stayed home in Montecito.
