Duchess Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39, support students in Nigeria with their Archewell Foundation. On their official website The two royals announced that they have donated school supplies and menstrual products to young women in collaboration with the charity The GEANCO Foundation.

“As students around the world returned to school this month, the Archewell Foundation supported girls’ education and health,” the statement said. With this support, 2,500 girls could now be informed about menstrual problems. This would fundamentally promote the well-being of young women in schools.

Young women equipped with “confidence and joy.”

On the official GEANCO Instagram page, Meghan and Harry were thanked for the joint project. In addition to some photos showing the Nigerian students with backpacks full of school supplies, the organization wrote: “We are honored to be working with the Archewell Foundation on an exciting school project for girls in Nigeria.” The students were given “self-confidence and joy”.

The bond between Nigeria and the two royals was also clear during the sixth edition of the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf at the beginning of September. The West African country was also taking part in the Games for the first time, which Harry even noted in his opening speech. Although he remained neutral as godfather and founder, his wife Meghan, on the other hand, has certain sympathies: “I don’t want to say that we prefer anyone at home, but since my wife found out that she is of Nigerian descent, it will be this year a little more competitive.”
