Prince Harry + Duchess Meghan: Your allegations against the Royals in the reality check

In the updated edition of their biography there are new allegations from Harry & Meghan against the Royals. GALA checks to see what’s right.

Exactly on the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death on August 31st, the updated edition of Harry and Meghan’s biography “Finding Freedom” was released. Over 400 pages, the author Omid Scobie, the couple’s unofficial mouthpiece, describes the life and suffering of the Sussexes – and raises new allegations.

Prince Harry + Duchess Meghan: Your biography reveals inconsistencies

The first reading already proves that not everything that is written there can be set in stone: Scobie claims that Prince William is incredibly angry because of the Oprah interview, that the tablecloth between the brothers is almost cut up. Currently, however, William and Harry are getting closer. And we wish them that the course of reconciliation remains.

“Charles and Harry hardly speak to each other”

A palace source on GALA: “Correct. It’s not the Prince of Wales, though. Harry has rejected his outstretched hand too many times.” The heir to the throne fears that his son – as has already happened – could leak confidential talks to the US press. Harry is at least having talks with William. “He’s reporting more often at the moment,” says our insider.

“Without Diana’s legacy, the two would not have survived”

This is complaints at a high level: Meghan alone is estimated at over four million euros from her time as an actress. Before the “Megxit”, Harry owned around 20 million euros, even without his mother’s legacy. The recent mega deals (Spotify, Netflix) will swell the Sussex family budget by up to $ 150 million over the next few years.

“The Windsors were glad Meghan didn’t come to Prince Philips’ funeral”

Meghan had canceled because of her already very advanced pregnancy. That was not wrong with the royals, according to Scobie. His reason: They feared that Meghan could draw all the attention on the very day that should be dedicated to Prince Philip. “No comment,” says the court. A sign that there could be something to the story.

“Your son Archie was denied the prince title”

Meghan and Harry would have liked Archie to be named prince, according to Scobie. Legally, however, this is not possible: King George V, the Queen’s grandfather, issued the resolution in 1917 that the great-grandchildren of a monarch only receive the title “Her Royal Highness” if they are directly connected to the throne – such as Prince George as the son of the heir to the throne William. George’s siblings Charlotte and Louis only granted this privilege to the Queen so that they would not feel disadvantaged.

“Meghan didn’t know where the earrings came from”

Meghan wore earrings worth half a million euros several times. The fact that Meghan did not want to have known that it was the wedding present from the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is responsible for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, does not sound very believable. The couple received a list of gifts of this magnitude.

“The palace does not take the accusation of racism seriously”

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple accused the royals of racism. The Queen announced an investigation. “The results will be published when the time is right,” said the palace’s press office in response to a request from GALA. We stay tuned.

“Harry was not allowed to lay a wreath in England”

On Rememberance Day Harry wanted to have a wreath laid in London to commemorate the fallen soldiers. When he was denied that, he did it himself with Meghan in a soldiers’ cemetery in Los Angeles (above). “It was strictly adhered to the protocol,” said GALA from an official point of view. Since Harry was no longer part of the royal family, his wreath-laying was not possible. And a private action would not have lived up to the dignity of this day.
