Harry and Meghan's interview with talk legend Oprah Winfrey will be broadcast on March 7th. Now there are the first excerpts from it.

Prince Harry (36) is afraid that history could repeat itself, as he explains in an interview with Oprah Winfrey (67). The channel CBS has now released the first excerpts from the eagerly awaited TV appearance by the Duke of Sussex and his wife Duchess Meghan (39), which will be broadcast on March 7th. In the interview with the talk legend, the two talked about the "Megxit", among other things. Harry and Meghan had resigned as working members of the royal family last spring and moved to California. In February, the palace announced that the couple would no longer return to their duties, give up remaining patronage and Prince Harry would lose his military dignity.

"It was incredibly difficult for both of us"

In two short pre-released clips from the Oprah Winfrey interview, Harry says, "My biggest concern was that history would repeat itself." He is apparently referring to his mother Diana, who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997 at the age of 36 when she was followed by paparazzi.

Harry is sitting in the pictures on the TV show next to his pregnant wife Meghan and holds her hand. She wears a long black dress, he a light gray suit. Harry said he was very "relieved and happy" to be able to speak here with his wife by his side, because he couldn't imagine what it must have been like for his mother to "go through this process alone all those years ago to have". And he adds: "It was incredibly difficult for both of us, but at least we had each other."

"Shocking Things"

In the clips, Oprah Winfrey also explains that no topic is taboo and reveals at one point: "You said some pretty shocking things here," including the fact that your situation was "almost insurmountable". The interview is probably also about the Sussexes' fight against the British tabloids.

In an interview with James Corden (42) for his "The Late Late Show" last week, Harry said the British tabloids had created "a difficult environment" that was devastating his mental health. He also stated that he and his wife "have not left the royal family". They have "resigned" but not "ceded". He did "what any father or husband would do and thought about how I could get my family out of there".
