Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Warrior’s Path update is available, what’s new?

Since Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was obviously an unexpected success for Ubisoft, the publisher has decided to provide post-launch content throughout the year. We recently discovered its content, including the development of a narrative extension. Last week’s update Warrior’s Path has been launched, adding some great new features that will keep the community busy for a while. Indeed, fashions Permadeath And Speedrun are now available, with a new “Stats” tab in the main menu serving to highlight our prowess. Three new outfits for Sargon are also blocked behind these challenges, a bit like what was done for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. A very classy costume giving the appearance of the prince from the trilogy of Sands of Time is also offered and to try it is to adopt it! And if like us your progress showed 99.9% even though you had collected all the collectibles with an account on the card, know that Fariba now sells cards sold 100 Time Crystals the unit and which display the treasure locations that you may have missed. Concerning us, there were three who had escaped our meticulous search, so…

What’s new

Permanent Death Mode

We’ve seen your Platinum trophies, but what about a real challenge?

Here is Permanent Death mode: play the game with only one life and no second chances! That’s right, when you die with this game modifier applied, you must start a new game. Here are some initial tips for surviving this threatening challenge:

  • Be sure to use the Wak-Wak Tree as often as possible to restore your health and change your amulets as necessary;
  • Make sure to upgrade your equipment and buy as many health potions as possible. You never know when you’ll need it;
  • Leave the main path and find the petals of the soma tree to increase your health bar.

To activate Permanent Death mode, simply start a new game and you will see the option!

If you manage to complete the game with this mode enabled, not only will you earn a huge amount of respect from our development team, but you will also receive a great outfit. If you’re up for an extra challenge, try completing the game on Immortal difficulty in Permanent Death mode, and yet another outfit awaits.

Speedrun mode

Want to test your racing skills and see how quickly you can complete the game?

This is Speedrun mode: race against the clock to beat your own records and keep track of your best attempts to complete the game as quickly as possible.

Beat the time limit to win a new outfit and bragging rights to your friends and other Prince of Persia fans!

Fariba’s clues

You can now purchase treasure maps from Fariba in the Shelter with Time Crystals. Each treasure map purchased adds the location of all chests in a previously visited area on your Eye of the Wanderer map. To purchase a treasure map, you must first have the specific map for the area in question.

  • After completing the main story of the game, a special map can be purchased in Fariba: it reveals all the lore items that remain to be found in the game, throughout Mount Qaf.

Quality of life

  • 120Hz support on Xbox Series S

Accessibility and options

  • New option to activate “Omnidirectional Parry”:
    • Allows you to block an attack coming from behind, above or below you.

  • Expanded Custom Difficulty Setting Range:
    • In particular: the parry difficulty can now be set to “Very easy”;
    • Enemy damage and health have a wider range (Editor’s note, from 0.1 to 6).

  • New “Fill Athra” option on custom difficulty.
  • New option to “Hide interface”.
  • New option to adjust music audio level.

Fashion Week

We’ve heard you love outfits, so how about something with a touch of nostalgia?

This new outfit for Sargon will be unlocked immediately with the download of the new update. However, the other outfits will require a lot of effort to obtain.

Other outfits include:

  • Like Lightning (Silver): Unlocked by completing the game in Speedrun mode in under 10 hours on any difficulty.
  • Holo Chroma (alternate color of the Sands of Time): Unlocked by completing the game in Permanent Death mode, on any difficulty.
  • Gold: Unlocked by completing the game in Permanent Mode on Immortal difficulty (seriously, who does that?).

  • A Lower Citadel Mystery Chest could sometimes disappear by leaving the room too quickly after triggering its appearance.
  • The Sacred Archives mystery chest could sometimes not appear, just after the Jailer’s first appearance.
  • A lore item in Drowned Harbor could sometimes disappear if it was not collected before changing zones.
  • The Prophecy of Mount Qaf side quest may not be triggered if you perform specific actions in the Hall of Prophecies before touching the first jar of sand.

WORLD

  • In the Lower Citadel, a specific door after the water puzzle could remain closed by quickly changing rooms.
  • It was sometimes impossible to enter the infinite tunnel on the far left of Mount Qaf.
  • A lever platform in The Deep could be broken under certain circumstances.

PERFORMANCE

  • The framerate was dropping below 50 fps in some areas of the Hyrcanian Forest.

Update : after looking in-game and reading other feedback, it seems that certain locations indicated on the cards sold are incorrect, or the treasures are extremely well hidden…
