Prince William and Prince Harry: Then their statue will be placed in Kensington Palace

The previously announced statue in honor of the late Princess Diana will find its place in the garden of Kensington Palace in 2021.

Princess Diana, who died in 1997, will be honored with a statue next year. As reported by the Daily Mirror, the memorial will find its place in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1, 2021. This was announced by Prince William (38) and brother Prince Harry (35) in a joint statement. Her mother would have celebrated her 60th birthday on that day.

The statue is intended to remind visitors to the palace of the life and legacy of Princess Diana, the statement said. The memorial was first announced in 2017 on the 20th anniversary of the princess' death and should actually already be in place. Due to the corona pandemic, however, work on the project was delayed.

Princess Diana was killed in a tragic car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997. William was 15 at the time, his brother Harry 12 years old.
