Prince William, 39, has had a very special role model since his early childhood, which both impresses and inspires him. On the occasion of a TED talk for his “Earthshot Initiative”, the British heir to the throne reveals which deceased US icon has inspired him to work for the preservation of our planet for years.
Prince William: The late US President is his absolute role model
William is inspired by the deeds of the late US President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) on his mission to solve the most momentous problems on planet earth. Ever since the prince was a little boy, he has been absolutely fascinated by the legendary president and his accomplishments. Prince William said: “People have the extraordinary ability to set goals and strive to achieve them,” said William in a TED talk on Monday 19th July. “I was long inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 mission to put a man on the moon in a decade. He called it Moonshot. It seemed insane at the time,” said William.

William explains, “Kennedy inspired people to make the most of our energies and abilities. In taking this giant leap for humanity, the team behind Moonshot united millions around the world and proved that this crazy ambition wasn’t that crazy after all. ” William continues, “If we don’t act this decade, the damage we’ve already done will be irreparable. And the effects will not only be felt by future generations. ”
