The Queen was recently unable to attend many appointments due to illness. Most often she was represented by her daughter.

Due to health problems, Queen Elizabeth II (95) has recently been unable to attend many appointments in person. As the British “Telegraph” now reports, her daughter Princess Anne (71) stood in for her mother the most frequently this year and took on many of her official duties.

With 13 additional investments, it is well ahead of Prince Charles and Prince William

The 71-year-old has carried out 13 additional investments since July, the paper writes. This is a ceremony in which someone is given special dignity by the monarch or another member of the royal family. Anne’s older brother Prince Charles (73), however, only carried out six additional investitures, his son Prince William (39) three.

The high number of such appointments would be due to the corona pandemic, which had to postpone many of them. Anne, however, likes “investitures and meetings” with the honored, an insider from the palace is quoted by the “Telegraph” as saying.

Princess Anne attended 368 appointments – more than one a day

Of all the royals, Princess Anne completed the most official appointments in 2021 – with 368 more than one per day. Just behind is Prince Charles again with 360 engagements. The Queen herself attended 186 appointments, some of them not in person, but via phone or zoom.

The 95-year-old last stepped down on the advice of doctors after she had to go to hospital for a short time in October for “preliminary examinations”. But now she seems to be doing better. As the Daily Mail wrote, she recently invited her entire family to a Christmas party – and a public appearance could also be on her schedule before Christmas.
