It can be courted again in paradise: “Princess Charming” is starting today on the streaming service RTL + in its second season. The dating show is to be broadcast on free TV from June 21, always a week later at 8:15 p.m. on Vox.
Not the first dome series on TV
“Princess Charming” is the lesbian version of “Prince Charming”, the first queer dating show on German TV. This format in turn is based on the straight dome programs “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”.
All of these formats have one thing in common: a horde of singles willing to flirt trying to win the favor of a chosen single person. If you don’t get a rose from the swarm at the end of the episode, you won’t be there in the next episode.
“Princess Charming”: An Award-Winning Dating Show
This time, all eyes rest on 28-year-old Hanna, who wants to find her chosen one from 18 candidates in front of the dreamy Mediterranean setting of the Greek island of Rhodes.
And because of dating shows and trash TV: “Princess Charming” was awarded the renowned Grimme Prize, which is considered the most important award for TV formats in Germany.
