Princess Madeleine: Court confirms good news for her and Queen Silvia

The physical distance between Princess Madeleine and Queen Silvia could hardly be greater: as long as their daughter still lives in the USA, personal meetings with the Queen are rather difficult. The news that the court has now confirmed is all the better.

In June 2023, there was great disappointment in Sweden: the move of Princess Madeleine, 41, and her family to Stockholm, which was scheduled for the summer, was postponed. The princess actually wanted to leave her adopted home in Florida behind and move to Sweden, close to her family. This move remains the big goal for 2024. And as long as Madeleine cannot meet her parents for a short detour, shared meetings are even more valuable.

Princess Madeleine: Confirmed! Mama Silvia is staying in the USA longer

On Monday, October 16, 2023, the two royal ladies met in New York. The occasion was the shared heart project of Madeleine and Queen Silvia, 79: They took part in a meeting with the UN special envoy for violence against children and the “World Childhood Foundation” at the United Nations headquarters. Even the usually camera-shy Chris O’Neill, 49, appeared on the red carpet alongside his sweetheart and his mother-in-law.

As the Swedish newspaper “Svensk Damtidning” now reports, the queen is using her trip in two ways: After her appointments for the “World Childhood Foundation”, Silvia will stay in the USA for a few more days. She is not scheduled to travel back to Sweden until the end of the week – and is expected to spend the meantime with her daughter Madeleine and her grandchildren. “The Queen is having a private visit,” said Margareta Thorgren, the court’s information officer.

Soon Madeleine and Silvia will be able to meet more often

Madeleine and Chris actually wanted to move from Florida to Sweden in August 2023. Just a few weeks later, these plans were put on hold for the time being. “The reason is neither a migration issue, nor the sale of the house or anything similar. “It’s just that the time for the family, with everything that a move entails, was a little too short,” Thorgen explained in June. Once Madeleine and her family live in Sweden, there will be fewer meetings with the royal family complicated. And as long as Queen Silvia enjoys every moment she has with her daughter and grandchildren even more.
