Princess Sofia, 39, and Prince Carl Philip, 44, visited the European Parliament in Brussels from April 10th to 11th. The couple has now been back in Stockholm and can celebrate the birthday of their eldest, Prince Alexander, on Friday, April 19, 2024. The Mini Royal is already eight years old.

The baby, Prince Julian, only turned three years old on March 26th. Now the next special event for the prince couple is coming up: Prince Alexander’s special day. A celebration that is traditionally celebrated in Villa Solbacken.

Despite the important milestone in his eldest’s life, dad Prince Carl Philip is initially serving the crown. A look at the royal calendar reveals that the 44-year-old will be taking part in the board meeting at the Stenhammar real estate management in the royal palace on Friday together with King Carl Gustaf, 77. However, Princess Sofia does not make an official appearance.

Private family celebration and a sweet snapshot

So it can be assumed that Prince Alexander will be surprised at home on Friday morning with cake and gifts. The family will certainly continue to celebrate his big day after the little prince gets home from school and Carl Philip gets home from work. Sofia and her husband, who also have son Prince Gabriel, 6, will celebrate their firstborn in style.

One thing is certain: As every year, the proud parents will publish a new snapshot of their child on their Instagram account – and thereby melt the hearts of royal fans. Alexander’s birthday portrait last year was liked around 25,000 times and the cute photo received a number of comments.
