The PS5 is going to be colorful. Sony is finally announcing colored side panels with which you can beautify your console. There is already a release date for the faceplates.

Those who find the design of the PS5 too boring can soon change this fact. Sony is now announcing colored side panels (“faceplates”). Simply swap them out and your console will be presented in red, blue, purple, pink or black from now on – Sony was inspired by the galaxy when choosing colors.
The new colors will also be available for the DualSense controller. Cosmic Red and Midnight Black are already available for the gamepads.
Users of the Sony PlayStation Direct platform will get some of the new products particularly early. If you have a PSN account, you can prefer to buy the publisher’s products there, including a PS5 (invitation required).
The PS5 covers in black and red will be there from January 21, 2022 sold and from February 18th also at other dealers. The remaining colors will follow in the first half of 2022.

Prices for the side panels, which will appear for both the disk and digital editions, have not yet been determined. We have contacted Sony about this and will update the article when there is any news.
Long before this announcement, other vendors offered side panels for the PS5, which Sony should not have liked very much. Now finally follows the official offer to the fans.
