PS5: new CFI-1200A and CFI-1200B models discovered in Australia, what’s new?

Whereas Sony Interactive Entertainment is still struggling to meet demand and has even decided to increase the price of its console next gen to supposedly offset rising production costs, the time is obviously not for a PlayStation 5 Pro. And yet, new PS5 models have just been seen in Australia. These are not machines with technical developments, but lighter modern versionsan optimization in line with what was done for previous generations.

After launching the models with and without disk drive CFI-1000A and CFI-1000B 4.5 and 3.9 kg in 2020, EIS had already lightened its consoles with the CFI-1100A and CFI-1100B of 4.2 and 3.6 kg in 2021. Now that the series CFI-1200A and CFI-1200B further lower the mass of the product, which goes to 3.9 kg with disk drive and 3.4 kg without. The new PS5s have so far only been seen in Australia, and no one has yet been to dissect them to compare them precisely to the previous ones. But who says less weight also certainly means less materials, which hardly goes hand in hand with the increase in the price of the console next gen
