PS5: The DualSense Edge controller will be released in January, priced at €239

With the rising price of PS5 and the endless wait around a PlayStation Showcase, we had almost forgotten that sony was preparing the release of a DualSense “Pro”, more commonly known as DualSense Edge. This controller was revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, but it was not known when it would be released, or even at what price it would be available. Today we have a little more information, and regarding the price, we have to hang on.

What is included in the DualSense Edge?

The PlayStation Blog allows us to fill up with information on this DualSense Edge, which will be equipped with many customization options with the possibility of reassigning certain keys as well as the joysticks.

When you purchase a DualSense Edge, you will find the following items included in the packaging :

  • DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
  • Braided USB cable
  • 2 standard caps
  • 2 high rounded caps
  • 2 low rounded caps
  • 2 semi-rounded rear keys
  • 2 rear paddles
  • Connector housing
  • Carrying case

When will the DualSense Edge be released?

In addition to this information, we finally know when this new controller will be released. We thus learn that the DualSense Edge will be available from January 26, 2023. You can pre-order it from October 25.

Still, don’t be put off by the price. If you want to get the DualSense Edge, you will have to pay the sum of 239.99 €. Inflation, all that… We know the story. Quite a sum (you can almost buy other consoles at this price), especially compared to the Xbox Elite Series controller, to stay in the field of “Pro” controllers.

It remains to be seen whether the performance of this DualSense Edge deserves this price or not. Answer next January.
