PSG backtrack, Phil Collins’ “Who Said I Would” returns to Parc des Princes

The Paris-Saint-Germain ultras got the better of the club’s management. Faced with the outcry created by the deletion of the title Who Said I Would, the song by Phil Collins traditionally played at the entrance of Paris-Saint-Germain players at the Parc des Princes, the club announced, Friday, September 17, that it was backing down. “Faced with the emotion aroused by the change in the input music of the players, Phil Collins returns to the Park on Sunday”, wrote the PSG on his account Twitter.

The title “Who Said I Would” released in 1985 on the album No Jacket Required, which resonates at the Park since the beginning of the 1990s, had been relegated to the start of the warm-up, Saturday 11 September, before the victory of PSG against Clermont (4-0), for the 5e Ligue 1 day.

For the entry of the players, the club had chosen to substitute a sound of the French DJ Snake, also known to be a supporter of the club of the capital. This change made the teeth of some of the Parisian supporters attached to this song cringe, especially on social networks.

The musician had also expressed himself on the subject: “I provided sound for Messi’s presentation. I discovered that we made an intro music for the input of the players when it does not lend itself to it “DJ Snake explained on Instagram and Twitter, adding that he didn’t want to hurt the club by “Speaking on this subject, but I cannot accept this situation as a supporter”.

PSG receives Lyon on Sunday (9 p.m.) for the 6e day of L1.
