Nothing has changed in her assessment of the risk Breivik poses, Norwegian psychiatrist Randi Rosenqvist said on Wednesday during an appeal hearing at Skien Prison. The diagnosis is the same as before: the risk of future acts of violence is unchanged compared to the first risk assessment that she wrote in 2012 and 2013.
Since Tuesday, the Telemark District Court in Skien Prison has been hearing about whether Breivik can be released early on parole, as he has requested. His chances of success are slim. The court hearing is expected to last until Thursday, with a decision to be announced at a later date and possibly as early as next week.
Rosenqvist was previously considered the most important witness in the proceedings. She examined Breivik several times after the attacks he carried out on July 22, 2011, in which 77 people died.
