“Puss in Boots 2” comes out this Wednesday in our theaters. Long awaited, the sequel to the adventures of the famous ginger cat friend of Shrek is to be seen with the family from 6 years old.

Once upon a time : Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure and his contempt for danger have come to cost him dearly: he has exhausted eight of his nine lives. In order to get back on his feet, our hairy hero literally launches into the quest of his life.
He embarks on an epic adventure to the far reaches of the Dark Forest. But when you only have one left, you have to know how to lay low, be careful and ask for help. This is how he turns to his former partner: Kitty Pattes De Velours. The two cats are going to be helped by Perro, a stray dog with a strong tongue and an unalterable good mood.
Together they will try to stay one step ahead of the fearsome Goldilocks and his Three Bears gang, but also of Little Jack Horner who has grown up, or even the most ferocious bounty hunter in the area: The Wolf.
Puss in Boots 2: The Last Quest
With the voices of: 11 years after the first part, Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek are back to lend their voices to the tomcats of the film. The dog Perro is voiced by Harvey Guillen while Florence Pugh lends her voice to Goldilocks, Olivia Colman is Mother Bear, Ray Winston is the voice of Papa Bear and Samson Kayo voices Little Bear. Wagner Moura for his part is The Big Bad Wolf and John Mulaney doubles the horrible Little Jack Horner.
On the French side, the dubbing actor Boris Rehlinger takes over the role of Puss in Boots. Profiling actress Diane Dassigny lends her voice to Kitty (it was Virginie Efira in the first film). Maxime Baudoin doubles Perro while Lison Daniel is Goldilocks.
The Big Bad Wolf is dubbed by rapper Doudou Masta, who has already tried his hand at dubbing with Madagascar 2 and Arthur and the Minimoys.

What they will love: Finding the legendary Puss in Boots 11 years after the first film is a real event for fans of DreamWorks films. Since his first solo adventure, Potté has grown up a lot and if he still has very high self-esteem, his last quest will allow him to realize his past mistakes. The hero will become more mature, more altruistic and more empathetic and the spectators will only like him more.
After a stint in a cat shelter where he was nicknamed Pickles and completely let himself go (which gave rise to some rather funny sequences), Potté picked up the slack and set off on an adventure.
From his eventful reunion with Kitty to his meeting with the dog Perro disguised as a cat, passing through his memories of his past adventures with Shrek, Potté will recall his lives and the importance of finally being surrounded by people in whom we have trust and who loves us.

Bouclette and the 3 Bears
Like the Shrek movies, The Last Quest is jam-packed with references to other fairy tales. Little Jack Horner’s secret room is full of magical objects: Mary Poppins’ bag, Cinderella’s shoe, Belle’s flower, King Triton’s trident, Alice in Wonderland cakes and especially Jiminy Cricket, the good conscience of Pinocchio.
So many references that will amuse moviegoers and children.
The most attentive will also notice several nods to the mother Shrek saga: the presence of Ti Biscuit, Shrek and Pinocchio in the memories of the cat and of course, the end of the film.

What can worry them : After losing 8 of his 9 lives, Potté realizes his own mortality and begins to be afraid… The legendary reckless hero is frightened and it’s not the terrible Big Bad Wolf launched in his footsteps who will to reassure.
Because this terrible bounty hunter with red eyes and sharp teeth is very scary. His deep voice, his black hood and his 2 scythes make him even more impressive. When the latter appears everything becomes dark. During the first confrontation with Potté, the wolf wounds him and a drop of blood flows. This is the first time we see blood in the saga.
Potté’s hairs then stand on end and he thinks only of fleeing. Be careful if you are going to see the film with young children.

During his visit to Mama Luna’s refuge, Potté meets Perro, a mangy and talkative dog who wants to become his friend. If his good humor and his stubbornness annoy the feline, the latter will be touched by the story of this mistreated little dog, rejected by everyone and yet always ready to help.
But the real villain of the film is Jack Horner. This collector of magic objects and lover of pies has only one desire: to hold all the magic in the world. Without conscience, without qualms and ready to do anything to achieve his ends, this former child star has become a feared mobster in the land of fairy tales.
What they will keep inside : Puss in Boots 2: The last quest is a real life lesson. The boastful hero will live a great “human” adventure that will lead him on the path to redemption.

He will literally face his past mistakes and understand, thanks to his friends, that the most important thing is to be surrounded by people you love and to enjoy the present moment.
The naive Perro always sees the good side of things despite the hardships of life and this is the reason why the Dark Forest offers him for once, a path filled with beautiful trials.
A great adventure film with a furry Zorro and a little dog that will soften even the toughest of you.
