Quantumania, Loki, Echo: here are the 11 Marvel films and series for 2023

The year 2023 triggers phase 5 of the films and series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). To which are added some Sony productions. Ask for the program!

If 2021 was a good year for Marvel in terms of series (Wanda Vision, Loki, Hawkeye…) and for movies (Spider-Man No Way Home, Shang Chi…), the year 2022 will have given us a somewhat irregular end to phase 4 – between big disappointments and a few wonders.

2023 will be the year of a new beginning: the start of phase 5. There are also Sony productions on the agenda.

Marvel movies in 2023

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (february)

Very early in the year, Marvel begins hostilities: Quantumania releases February 17, and the film is set to play a pivotal role in the development of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ant-Man and the Wasp will find themselves stranded in the Quantum Realm, a situation that will cause the arrival of Kang the Conqueror. The latter will be the big villain of this phase.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (may)

End clap for the adventures of the endearing guardians of the galaxy. the Volume 3 will come to close this trilogy signed James Gunn. The trailer suggests an episode that’s a bit different from the others, relying more on emotion. But the humor will always be there. Gamora will be back as a new version of herself, and Guardians will be treated to new costumes!

Spider-Man: Alone Against All (june)

It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year: the animated sequel to Spider-Man: Next Generation is scheduled for June. Title Spider-Man: Alone Against All (Across the Spider-Verse in VO), it will introduce no less than 15 different versions of spidey. This production does not belong to the MCU, since it is a film produced by Sony.

The Marvels (july)

Formerly labeled captain marvel 2, The Marvels signs the return of Brie Larson in Carol Danvers in the MCU. However, she made a very brief appearance at the end of the series. Miss Marvel : and for good reason, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) will also be part of The Marvels. Likewise, the feature film will allow us to see Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), introduced in Wanda Vision.

Kraven the Hunter (october)

The last Marvel movie of the year will not be in the MCU since it will be a Sony production – in the continuity of what was built (admittedly a very big word) with Venom and Morbius. Kraven is, again, a famous villain in the Spider-Man universe, in the comics. The lead role is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Marvel series in 2023

On the TV series side, the program is a little more vague because we have “release windows” rather than specific dates (and some productions have been shaken up in their schedule). All of the series mentioned are planned for Disney+.

What If…? season 2 (early 2023)

Season 2 of what if is scheduled for beginning of the year. This animated series offers, in an anthological way, alternate versions of Marvel characters. The first season was enjoyable in concept, imagining other directions in MCU history, but not necessarily memorable.

Secret Invasion (early 2023)

Secret Invasion will sign the return of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) at the beginning of the year. There will also be Maria Hills (Cobie Smulders) or Everett Ross (Martin Freeman). The series will also sign the arrival in the MCU of Olivia Coleman and Emilia Clarke. It will be about an invisible war against aliens able to pass themselves off as humans.

Echo (summer 2023 — postponed to 2024?)

The character of Echo was all the rage in Hawkeye. Alaqua Cox played Maya Lopez, a hearing-impaired heroine raised by Kingpin (the Kingpin) who initially opposed Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. She will have the right to her spin-off: Echo. Moreover, Daredevil (Charlie Cox) should make an appearance there upstream of Daredevil: Born Again.

Although filming has been completed, and the launch window was announced for summer 2023, it seems that production has been delayed. It is now likely that the Echo series will be postponed to early 2024.

Loki season 2 (summer 2023)

Season 2 of Loki is scheduled for summer 2023. Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino are back, like the main cast. It will be a direct sequel to the events of Season 1.

iron heart (back to school 2023)

A new heroine arrives in the MCU. We saw Riri Williams for the first time in Wakanda Foreverbut the one who is also baptized iron heart will be entitled to its own series. This has a launch window around the start of the 2023 school year, therefore between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (winter 2023)

The spin-off on Agatha Harkness was not originally planned, but it comes from the success of Wanda Vision and the character played by Kathryn Hahn. It didn’t end well for her, after the spell Wanda cast on her. See you in the winter of 2023 (or maybe very early 2024) to find the witch in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Animated series: X-Men 97 & Moon Girl

Two animated series, rather dedicated to a child audience on their side (unlike what if and Spider-Man Across the spider-verseall audiences), are also programmed:

  • Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (February)
  • X-Men 97′, sequel to the famous animated series (back to school)
