First, some US media announce the end of star quarterback Tom Brady’s football career. But the denial follows quickly. After the vortex, the 44-year-old now expresses himself for the first time about his future.

On Saturday, ESPN, citing anonymous sources, reported that the decision had been made and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback would retire. Numerous colleagues, the NFL itself and even one of his companies then congratulated him on his outstanding career with seven Super Bowl victories. “I tried to have a nice weekend but it didn’t quite work out, my phone was pretty busy,” he said.
Brady has been in the NFL for 22 years and has continued to perform well despite being eliminated in the playoff quarterfinals. He has one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is aware that his decision will affect many people, Brady said on the podcast. “If I know then I know and if I don’t know then I don’t know yet. I won’t let myself be pressured into making a decision,” he said.
The playmaker expressed regret that Saturday’s news took away the attention from Sunday’s two playoff games. There, the Los Angeles Rams won against the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals surprisingly against the Kansas City Chiefs and are now playing in the Super Bowl on February 13.
A resignation would not be necessary for sporting reasons. Brady showed until the end of the season that the oldest player in the league still had it.
